Fens are rare in Colorado, but occur throughout the mountains. The ancient and sensitive wetlands are one of the few ecosystems to be protected by multiple laws and policies. Fen projects are diverse and may include restoration, inventories, impact modeling, impact avoidance and minimization, rare plant surveys, and mapping.
